Caramatu 16/8 kl.20
Caramatu - Afro-Brazilian swing that moves the Swedish summer to Brazil. When you hear the heart-pumping party music from the Pernambuco region in northeastern Brazil – maracatu, ijexá, coco – you should wear clothes that can withstand a sweat. Powerful, energetic, simmering, billowing. This is joy that stays in the body for a long time.
Brazil is best known for samba and bossa nova. But up in the north-eastern part of the country there are even more powerful rhythms, in the form of maracatu, coco and undulating afoxê. The members of Caramatu have all been involved in different types of Brazilian music since before, but it was when we met ten years ago that sparks really flew! We are passionate about sharing the energy, in a show where music, song and movement become one, where you who listen are guaranteed to find it hard to stand still.
The band members Johanna Ehn, Daniel Slunge, Georgette Fredriksson, Camila Borges, Calle af Ekenstam, Fatima Grönblad, Johan Hogenäs, Sofia Cvetkovic Destouni, Mila Ostojic, Soumia el Ghazouani.
